BIO

Alex Adkinson is an artist and digital imaging researcher based in Chicago, IL. His practice investigates the post-industrial landscape, urban infrastructure, and the limits of representation. His sculptures contrast scientific work in 3D biological archiving through photographs and the material poetics of steel in mixed-media sculpture. Adkinson is fascinated by the moments when images fail, by what cannot be metabolized as information. He holds an MFA from Florida State University, has exhibited internationally, and is included in private and institutional collections.
