Special Projects & Commissions

Recognizing the transformative power of art in public and everyday spaces, CAC’s Special Projects & Commissions are a unique opportunity for clients to work with Chicago artists to reimagine their environments.

CAC manages the process from start to finish - including generating the idea and scope of the project, budgeting, installation, and promotion.

Past projects have included installations, murals, and rotating exhibitions at offices, hotels, events, and other spaces including...
  • Le Meridien, Oakbrook
  • EXPO Chicago
  • 1871, the Merchandise Mart
  • 10 S. Riverside Dr. / Callahan Capital Partners
  • The Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation
  • Zeno
  • Pitchfork Music Festival

10 S. Riverside Plaza

CAC was commissioned by a real estate firm to find an artist to create a mural in their new Loop offices. CAC and artist Justus Roe worked closely with the clients to create a design that reflected both the atmosphere and aesthetic of the office. The clients wanted a work that would excite the team on a daily basis, as well as set an inviting and unique tone for new visitors to the space.

1871 Mural Project

CAC was invited to commission three artists to create original, large-scale mural works at 1871, a new digital startup/incubator located in the Merchandise Mart.

Le Meridien

CAC commissioned artist Justus Roe to create an original painting to be scaled and recreated into a 70-foot glass mosaic.

Moto at Merchandise Mart

CAC commissioned six artists to create original artwork in the new MOTO offices inside Chicago's Merchandise Mart.

Mural, Zeno lobby, by Justus Roe

CAC commissioned the muralist Justus Roe to transform Zeno’s newly renovated lobby area.
