Artist Leaders

Abigail Satinsky

Abigail Satinsky is the Interim Executive and Artistic Director at Threewalls in Chicago, a twelve year old non-profit supporting Chicago artists and the contemporary art community through exhibitions, publications, professional development and public programs. Abigail is the Grant Administrator for the Propeller Fund and she teaches courses at School of the Art Institute of Chicago on social and curatorial practice.

Anthony Romero

Anthony Romero is a Chicago artist, writer, and curator interested in documenting and supporting artists and communities whose narratives and practices are often excluded from art historical narratives and exhibitions. He currently teaches in the departments of Community Practice and Social Engagement at Moore College of Art and Design.

Artist Residents

Abigail Wise

Abbie Wise is a visual artist interested in the process of converting our natural environment into sculpture. Abbie is a recent graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art.

Adriana Castro

Adriana Castro is a visual artist who works with the non-tangible yet experiential themes of the female body: the self, the flesh, the mind, and its experience that finds a second body through familiar objects. Adriana is currently completing a degree at the University of Illinois – Chicago.

Amiko Li

Amiko Li is a photographer whose work explores places with doubts. Amiko is currently completing a degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Aurora Grajeda

Aurora Grajeda is a printmaker whose work focuses on cultural images as a first generation Mexican American young woman. Aurora is currently completing a degree at Grand Valley State University.

Bryan Volta

Bryan Volta is a sculptor and photographer who takes great interest in human psychology regarding obsessive and compulsory actions. Bryan is currently completing a degree at the University of Illinois – Chicago.

Christian Terzich

Christian Terzich is a visual artist who sees his paintings as portals, both mentally and visually. Christian is currently completing a degree at Columbia College.

Darien Wendell

Darien Wendell is a transdisciplinary artist whose artistic practice is preoccupied with deconstructing and reconfiguring our bodies, histories, and selves as they are known through systems of domination, colonialism, racism, sexism, oppression, and repression. Darien is currently completing a degree at Northwestern University.

Deborah Culbreth

Deborah Culbreth is a visual artist producing work in a variety of mediums: painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture and fiber to convey observations of life today. Deborah is currently completing a degree at Chicago State University.

Diana Chang

Diana Chang is a visual artist whose work aims to break socio-economic prejudices and return art to its purpose (if such exists) to dialog with the rest of humanity in a reflective pondering of life. Diana is currenly completing a degree at Northwestern University.

Dillon Coulahan

Dillon Coulahan is a sculptor whose work deals with insecurities, fears of death, and the threat of lingering vacancies by focusing these menaces into a collection of psychological props. Dillon is currently completing a degree at Northern Illinois University.

Gabriela Vasquez

Gabriela Vasquez is a visual artist whose work focuses on randomness. Gabriela is currently completing a degree at Harold Washington College.

Jaymes Fedor

Jaymes Fedor is a painter whose work is influenced by intersectional feminism, evolutionary biology, art history and queer theory. Jaymes is currently completing a degree at Northern Illinois University.

Kiernan Miller

Kiernan Miller is a multidisciplinary artist creating work across dance, video, photography, and design. Kiernan is currently completing a degree at Columbia College.

Lee Kintner

Lee Kintner is a multidisciplinary artist whose interests lie in book and publication design. Lee is currently completing a degree at Columbia College.

Lucas Ballester

Lucas Ballester is an interdisciplinary artist whose work triangulates a conversation among the formal, the object, and the body. Lucas is currently completing a degree at Columbia College.

Madeline Deligiannis

Madeline Deligiannis is a fiber artist whose work brings personal experiences, thoughts, and memories from her mental space into physical space to share with others. Madeline is currently completing a degree at Northern Illinois University.

Margaret Boylan

Margaret Boylan is a sculptor interested in the relationship between interior and exterior space, by extension public and private space. Margaret is currently completing a degree at Northern Illinois University.

Nicole Kaufman

Nicole Kaufman is a visual artist whose work strives to instill notions of time, weight, and what it means to exist through material and process. Nicole is a recent graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Taylor Edin

Taylor Edin is a multidisciplinary artist whose work dissects language, culture, media, and the various environments she finds herself in. Taylor is currently completing a degree at Columbia College.

Titus Wonsey

Titus Wonsey is a sculptor whose work investigates the subtle, important and/or common details that are hidden in plain sight in the environments that surround us. Titus is currently completing a degree at the University of Illinois—Chicago.

Yasmin Panjwani

Yasmin Panjwani is a visual artist influenced heavily by environment and location. Yasmin is currently completing a degree at Harold Washington College.

Zuri Washington

Zuri Washington is a visual artist whose work is about what happens when things restricted come lose, intersect. Zuri is currently completing a degree at Northern Illinois University.

Allyson Esposito

Allyson Esposito is the Director of the Cultural Grants Program for DCASE and a dancer/choreographer with The Space/Movement Project. Allyson will be workshopping applications with Residents during the Progression Sessions.

Andi Crist

Andi Crist is an artist and the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Autotelic Studios. Andi will be speaking on Self-Organizing as Continuing Education with Rashayla Marie Brown and Regin Igloria.

Aron Gent

Aron Gent is an artist, professional print maker, Co-Director of Paris London Hong Kong, and Director/Founder of the printing/exhibition space DOCUMENT. Aron will be speaking on Best Practices for Your Portfolio with James Pepper Kelly.

Benjamin Chaffee

Benjamin Chaffee is an artist and the Director of Corbett vs Dempsey. Benjamin will be speaking on Business Models & Strategies with Felicia Holman and Danny Orendorff.

Cara Megan Lewis

Cara Megan Lewis is an artist and the Associate Director of Rhona Hoffman Gallery. Cara will be speaking on Building an Audience for Your Creative Practice with Matt Morris.

Claire Demos is a visual artist, freelance photographer, and the Director of Finance and Administration at The Chicago Perch. Claire will be speaking on The Artist's Life with Jessica Pierotti.

Felicia Holman is an artist, independent curator, Marketing/Studio Manager at Links Hall, and Co-Founder/Communication Director of Honey Pot Performance. Felicia will be speaking on Business Models & Strategies with Benjamin Chaffee and Danny Orendorff.

J. Gibran Villalobos

J. Gibran Villalobos is an independent curator and the Assistant Coordinator at the Department of Architecture and Design, Art Institute of Chicago. Gibran will be speaking on Leveraging Professional and Personal Connections.

James Pepper Kelly is a writer, Managing Director of Filter Photo, and Executive Director of LATITUDE. James will be speaking on Best Practices for Your Portfolio with Aron Gent.

Jessica Pierotti

Jessica Pierotti is an artist, photographer, 2016 MFA candidate at UIC, and the Director of Publishing at The Chicago Perch. Jessica will be speaking on The Artist's Life with Claire Demos.

Julie Herwitt

Julie Herwitt is an artist, Certified Public Accountant and Owner of Herwitt & Associates. Julie will be leading a workshop on Personal & Business Finances 101.

Kate Bowen

Kate Bowen is an artist, teacher, Video Programming Coordinator at the Museum of Contemporary Photography, and Exhibitions Director for ACRE. Kate will be workshopping ACRE applications with Residents during the Progression Sessions.

Kate Dumbleton

Kate Dumbleton is an Assistant Professor of Arts Administration and Policy at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and the Executive and Artistic Director of the Hyde Park Jazz Festival. Kate will be leading the Grants & Artist Writing workshop.

Kate Schutta

Kate Schutta is an artist, educator, and Co-Director of the Career + Co-op Center at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). Kate will be workshopping applications with Residents during the Progression Sessions.

Matt Morris

Patrice Perkins

Patrice Perkins is the Creative ESQ. and owner of Creative Genius Law. Patrice will be leading a workshop on Freelance Essentials.

Rashayla Marie Brown is an artist and the inaugural Director of Student Affairs for Diversity and Inclusion at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Rashayla will be speaking on Self-Organizing as Continuing Education with Regin Igloria and Andi Crist.

Regin Igloria
