Kiam Marcelo Junio

The Jerry Blossom Brigade - Performance at the MCA - 2013.

Kiam Marcelo Junio is a multidisciplinary artist who works in photography, video, printmaking, installation, burlesque, and performance art.

His research and artwork center around queer identities, the Filipino American diaspora, post-colonial Asian American tropes and stereotypes, and politics of visibility in a social justice context.

"Jerry Blossom" is Kiam’s alter-ego, a gender-queer Filipino femme-presenting persona who hails from an alternate post-queer, post-colonialist utopia.

Kiam served seven years in the United States Navy. He was born in the Philippines and has lived in the US, Japan and Spain. He is also a registered yoga instructor and recently launched QIAM, a fashion brand.
