Know Your Rights: A Toolkit for Cultural Producers

FIELD/WORK Core Curriculum
Tuesday, March 5, 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:30pm

Attorney Patrice N. Perkins will introduce artists to your fundamental rights as independent, freelance workers under the law and how to best advocate for your own financial remuneration and intellectual property protections.

Incorporating a series of templates and resources, this workshop will also introduce ways for artists to assert your legal rights in a variety of circumstances, to develop a legal strategy to suit the needs and ambitions of your practice, and to politically organize on behalf of artists’ rights.

This workshop is part of the FIELD/WORK Core Curriculum, a series of FIELD/WORK Residency sessions that are open to the public. CAC welcomes you to join us at 5:30pm for social time with refreshments, with the program beginning promptly at 6:00pm.
