Originally from Korea, Annette Hur has been living and working in Chicago since 2013.
Her practice lies in strong believability with narrative potential: images that visualizes the disjunction between what we tend to remember and the reality. Straddling an irreconcilable experience in human relationship and the act of recording it, Hur reaches a compromise through carefully composed motions on diverse surfaces prepared in different forms and materials. Hur has shown at Zhou B Art Center and Heaven Gallery among others. She holds BA (education) from Korea, and BFA from School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
